I came to Dr. Rose on the high recommendation of a close friend, hoping to establish care for my almost 14‑year‑old German Short Hair Pointer, Jack. When I scheduled, the office knew Jack’s geriatric age and mobility issues. Nothing on the website, during registration, or during scheduling mentioned any kind of strict appointment‑time adherence policy.
My appointment was at 3:00 PM. At 3:01, the receptionist called asking where I was. I answered immediately, told her I was pulling in, apologized, and explained I had been stuck behind a semi‑truck. My adult son was with me specifically to help Jack out of the car because he is unstable and cannot get in or out without assistance. We walked into the clinic around 3:03–3:03:30 PM.
After identifying ourselves, the receptionist said, “We are strict about appointment time and you are four minutes late. I will have to ask if you can still be seen.” This policy was never communicated at any point — not online, not during scheduling, not during reminder calls, and not even during the 3:01 call asking where we were. We were not told to arrive early or that late arrival would result in refusal of care.
She went to the back, returned around 3:08 PM, and told us we could not be seen but could reschedule. I declined and left.
Please do not worry about Jack — he is now being followed by White Whiskers Aging Pet Care, and Dr. Kelly is AMAZING. I can recommend her practice with complete confidence. I also highly recommend Buxton Veterinary Care.
I am the sole provider of a private psychiatric practice. I understand the importance of running on time — but I also understand humanness, compassion, and the reality that life happens. Unfortunately, Claremont Ranch seems far more concerned with unspoken policy than patient care. Their time policy is not stated anywhere, not taught to new clients, and not mentioned during scheduling or reminder calls.
I am grateful I learned how this practice operates before establishing care. I will never return and strongly caution others about bringing your beloved pets here. Claremont Ranch feels cold, rigid, and corporate — not patient‑centered, not compassionate, and not aligned with what most of us seek in private veterinary care.
I made an appointment to bring my almost 14 year old German Short Hair Pointer, Jack, in to establish care with Dr. Rose with plans to schedule my other two pets with her.
My appointment was at 3:00PM. The receptionist called me at 3:01, I answered, told her I was pulling into the parking lot, apologized and let her know I got stuck behind a semi-truck.
I pulled in and parked. My adult son (who came along to help because Jack is unstable and cannot ride in the car without assistance) had to pick Jack up and help him out of the car while I got my other dog out. We all walked into the clinic about 3 to 3.5 minutes past my appointment time. After we identified ourselves, the receptionist said, "we are strict about appointment time and you are four minutes late. I will have to ask to see if you can still be seen." She then walked into the back, came back about five minutes later and said we could not be seen but would be willing to reschedule. I said no thank you and left.
Please do not worry about Jack, he is being followed by White Whiskers Aging Pet Care and Dr. Kelly is AMAZING. I can recommend Dr. Kelly's practice with 100% certainty you and your aging family member will get the BEST care possible. Jack just needed a check up and the other two need a doc.
I am the sole provider in a private psychiatric practice and understand the importance of appointments running on time. I also understand that life happens and sometimes people get held up for various reasons. Unfortunately, Dr. Rose seems to have taken the humanness out of her practice and is more concerned about policy.
When I initially scheduled the appointment, the "time" policy was not mentioned. Having this information may or may not have changed the outcome, I don't really know as I was held up by driving slow so Jack was more stable and got stuck behind a semi-truck.
I am glad I found out Dr. Rose cares more about unspoken policy than she does about her patients before we established care with her.
Dr. Rose and Claremont Ranch Animal Hospital have been absolutely the best. They have been our primary care for our staffy. And our poor boy has been through a lot. She takes the time to keep in touch with specialists and surgeons throughout our dog's life. And genuinely cares. Don't hesitate to take your pet there.
My wife and I have two beagle boys and we’ve been taking them to see Dr. Rose and the incredible staff at Claremont Ranch since they were puppies. We LOVE Dr. Rose and the staff for the excellent care and compassion and genuine love they show our babies. She has helped us in so many ways, from working us in on short notice (even when we might be overreacting), giving us honest and compassionate information and helping us get seen by other vet specialists ASAP when we ran into red tape and couldn’t accomplish it ourselves. We couldn’t be happier!!!
